Please donate so more men and women can survive and thrive!
January 27th I will be participating in the Komen Houston Race for the Cure®. I am taking an extra step by raising additional funds in the fight against breast cancer. Will you join me in this fight? Although many advances have been made in the 28 years since I was diagnosed, 40,000 men and women die each year from metastatic breast cancer. I am declaring myself a breast cancer warrior - to fund much needed research.
Fortunately, I was treated with the best treatments of the time, as well as participating in a clinical trial. But every 68 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer - the most prevalent cancer among women today, but not exclusively a female disease, as 5% of those diagnosed are male. Unfortunately I lost yet another friend last week to metastatic breast cancer. These deaths further strengthen my resolve to help fund research to save lives.
The Komen Houston Race for the Cure® raises money to locally fund education, screening and treatment programs in our community and to support nationally cutting-edge research in hopes of finding the cures. In addition, the Race celebrates breast cancer survivorship, recognizes those Forever Fighters continually living with the disease, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
I do not want to lose anymore men and women to this disease, please consider making a gift today.
Together, we are saving lives - it could be the life of your loved one!
